This scene is the farm-house and the Moses family at The Mt. Airy Farm in Verona, Virginia, It was once owned by Anna Mary Robertson Moses and her husband Thomas S. Moses
In 1951 Grandma Moses painted this scene from memory, as only she could do and in it she was holding her son, 2 year old Hugh Moses, who was born in this house. Five Moses babies are buried just over the river at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church.
